Calling all teachers, join us for the second year in a row and have your students record and share stories for the Great Thanksgiving Listen! Sharing stories builds compassion, understanding and empathy.
The purpose of the Great Thanksgiving Listen is to preserve the voices and stories of an entire generation of Americans. This 2016 Thanksgiving holiday weekend StoryCorps hopes to foster meaningful connections within families, communities, and classrooms while creating an archive of wisdom. Join a national collection of voices that empowers high school students to create an oral history of the contemporary U.S. by recording an interview with an elder over Thanksgiving weekend using the StoryCorps App. Last year, more than 100,000 individuals from all 50 states took part over a single holiday weekend.

What can students do?
- Choose someone to interview.
- Pick great questions. (Here are some great interview resources from Facing History.)
- Find a quiet place to record. Listen closely to your interview subject.
- When you’re finished, share your interview with the world on the Story Corps App.
