Listen Edition gets close with SeaWorld and science teachers
Penguins, and porcupines and flamingos, oh my! Welcome to the National Science Teachers Association national conference in Boston. Listen Edition exhibited in the hall just a few feet from the SeaWorld trailer, which had live animal displays all day long. It wasn’t unusual to see a couple of penguins walk by or to hear a toucan squawking.
Public radio lesson plans that aligns with Next Generation Science Standards
We talked with hundreds of science teachers about how to make science relevant in their classroom with public radio.
We were showcasing public radio segments and enjoyed chatting with listeners about each story. The science teachers we met are excited about Listen Edition because we find public radio stories that align with the Next Generation Science Standards. More than any other conference Listen Edition has attended, these science teachers are big fans of public radio! Many of them already use it in their classrooms. They are excited to find a resource that helps them locate and create lesson plans as well as gaining access to an easily searchable database of public radio stories.
